Ditching the Dearly Departed at Disneyland? Don’t.
Honestly, I can see why you would want to scatter your loved one’s remains at Disneyland. Maybe you took a trip to Disneyland with your dad when you were eight. I did. I made some great memories there. I still think about that trip all the time. It was the best part of my childhood.
Back to the whole “scattering Dad’s remains at Disneyland” thing. If you’re thinking about doing that, please don’t.
Apparently, the Haunted Mansion is one of the most popular places to scatter cremains. Flower beds and Pirates of the Caribbean are also in the running. In all honesty, security barely checks your bag, and it’s really easy to fit Grandma into a Ziploc.
But Disneyland has cameras everywhere. Literally. You’re going to be caught. They’re going to stop the ride. People are going to be mad. And everybody is going to get a Fast Pass for the Matterhorn.
Not only does Disneyland prohibit the spreading of ashes in its park, but Anaheim laws also beseech you. Do not spread the ashes of your dearly departed at any of the Disney parks. Not even California Adventure. No matter how much Grandpa loved California Screamin’. No matter how much time your sister spent on Superstar Limo. No matter how many amazing memories you made with Mom on Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train.
