Get ready to learn all about chores and gender roles! (This episode recap is brought to you by not voting for Jed Duggar.)

We open with a shot of two young boys wrestling with each other. I guess to really drive home the fact that little boys are totally masculine! It would be crazy to ask them to wash a dish or vacuum a floor.

17 Kids & Counting: ‘Trading Places, Duggar Style’ | TLC

Oh, wait! We’re thrown a curveball. Now Joy is getting in on the fighting.

Michelle says that one of the questions she’s asked most often is how she keeps the house clean. Well, of course, the secret to success is kicking your feet up and letting the kids do it all.

Each child has a “jurisdiction” to take care of. We’re about to learn more than we ever wanted about them.

Jim Bob and Michelle sit the kids down for a meal and they say a prayer requesting they be able to get a lot done in the day. I mean, when you can ask for anything, why not ask to be more productive, a thing you have total control over? Michelle also thanks God for creating Jesus.

Jim Bob explains to the children that they are going to be doing something “unusual” in the Duggar home. Exhibiting humility? Holding themselves accountable?

No!
