Have Yourself a Very Gossip Girl Thanksgiving

Take a drink every time somebody in this scene takes a drink! Then, down the rest of the drink when Cece delivers the last line. I did, and that’s what led to me writing this article.

What is it about this Gossip Girl episode that keeps me coming back year after year? Is it Jason Derulo’s “Watcha Say”? Is it “your sweet potatoes are bland”? Maybe it’s the delivery of “I want pie.”

I mean, even people who have never watched an episode of the show can watch this clip and know what’s happening. It’s the perfect encapsulated drama, and it tells a story entirely its own.

In short, this scene is a masterpiece. This is a hill I’m ready to die on.

• Lily has lied to her husband, Rufus, about her mother’s breast cancer for some mysterious reason.
• Rufus is trying to tell a joke with the punchline, “That’s what I call Plymouth Rock.”
• Blair thinks her mother is pregnant and doesn’t like it.
• Jenny learns Eric tried to sabotage her at cotillion, and he insults her sweet potatoes.
• Lily stares into the void and enjoys a drink alone.
