Hostel Review: Central Globetrotter Hostel in Leipzig, Germany
Leipzig is famous for a great many things, including Bach and Captain America: Civil War. I never intended to visit Leipzig, but it was the best place to stop over on the way out of Berlin. With few hostel options available, I settled on one that described itself as “atmospheric.”
The Location
Central Globetrotter Hostel is literally about 1,000 feet away from Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (the central station). It’s also conveniently located for the zoo and just a few minutes away from the main shopping area. Good thing too, because it was raining when I arrived. The receptionist gave me a free map, and boy was that “atmospheric” description right on.
The Room
My room had two sets of wooden bunk beds and plenty of natural lighting. The hallway, on the other hand, was very dark. It looks like there are a total of 18 rooms and 78 beds at Central Globetrotter Hostel, and I was on the 1st floor (which means the 2nd floor). One thing I did not really like was that you had to lock your belongings in a cupboard in the hallway rather than under your bed. No thanks.
The Bathroom Situation
Bathrooms at this hostel are shared and located in the hallway. There are was no sink in my four-person room. I…
