I wish I had spent a lot more time in Stuttgart. It’s a beautiful city and much bigger than I anticipated. I stumbled across the hostel on a booking website, and it was pretty affordable for a private room. I was on a tight budget, so affordability was important.

The Location

Hostel Alex 30 is a bit of a walk from the train station, but nothing unmanageable. It’s 1.5 km, which took about 20 minutes to walk with the slight hills. There is plenty of public transportation in Stuttgart, and a tram is right outside. If you have any questions about going out, the reception is open 24 hours.

The Room

My room was very clean, a nice change from the hostel I’d stayed in the night before. The walls were pretty thin, and I could hear the group in the next room over pretty well. Make sure to bring ear plugs, even if you stay in a private room. On the bright side, this would be a cool place to stay long-term. My room had a TV and a small refrigerator in addition to a small table I could use as a desk.
