My obsession with Degrassi: The Next Generation began when I was in high school. I accidentally stumbled across it on “The N”one evening when I managed to find myself in control of the remote in a house of 10 people.

I no longer watch any form of the Canadian drama, but the memories we made together will never be lost. Especially because I am still haunted by all of these episodes to this very day.

Time Stands Still (Season 4, Episodes 7 & 8)

This pair of episodes is deeply unsettling. Jimmy getting shot is one of the most haunting images, and I can bring it to mind at any time with startling accuracy.

Mother and Child Reunion (Season 1, Episode 1)

This is the first episode of the show, but it’s also one of the first episodes I ever watched. Emma, a fresh middle school student, meets a friend on the Internet. They bond over their love of the environment. What Emma doesn’t know is that her friend is actually a grown adult posing as a 12-year-old. She even goes to meet him at a hotel room.

Rock This Town (Season 6, Episode 11)
