It’s Not Cool to Approach People About Your MLM at Target
If you are on Facebook, I can’t imagine that you haven’t been bombarded with posts from acquaintances trying to peddle their MLM wares. From leggings and essential oils to mascara and toothpaste, these products are everywhere on social media.
Lately, I’ve seen people on Reddit, Facebook, and YouTube claim that they were approached at Target by people trying to get them to join their MLM downline. They approach people shopping under the guise of friendship, and it becomes clear later that there is a sort of sinister tone underlying the interaction.
Here’s What It Looks Like
Seemingly, this is what happens. You’re browsing the cereal aisle at Target when you are approached, perhaps by somebody who does not appear to actually be shopping. They might open up with a compliment, probably about your clothes.
How nice, right? No.
They might get chatting, and one of the first questions they ask is what you do for a living. Perhaps they mention a mentor or somebody they want to connect you with. They will end the interaction by asking for your phone number. They want yours so they can be sure they can get in touch with you or pass your number to somebody else.
