Jayden Glomb’s Step-Father Convicted of Her Murder
Jayden Renee Glomb was a 13-year-old who loved to dance and have sleepovers with her friends. She was an active member of school clubs and was just beginning her life, still learning about what it means to become a young adult.
Jayden lived with her mother, Jessica, and step-father of four years, 39-year-old Joshua Lelevier, in Vail, not far from Tucson, Arizona. She also had a step-brother and half-siblings, including one on the way. Her step-father had taken away her cell phone because she wasn’t waking up on time, but Jayden had lots of friends she kept in touch with via her laptop. On May 10, 2017, everything changed.
One night, Joshua claimed to have grown concerned that Jayden had run away. He had gotten up in the middle of the night to check on his son, who had just had a night terror, but he did not see Jayden in her bedroom. Apparently, Jayden had sneaked out before. Alarmed that she was nowhere to be found, Joshua said he had gone out in the night to search for her. He had no luck, so he waited until the morning and reported her as a runaway.
That same morning, Jayden’s body was found at a construction site not far from her home. Investigators took note of the fact that she was barefoot, and there was no evidence she had walked there herself.
