Last Week: Anthony Bourdain and Money Diaries
This week I spent a lot of time working and definitely not enough time doing much of anything else. Regardless, here’s what I got in last week.
First, Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential has been so fascinating so far. I’m learning a lot about kitchens and what I do and do not want to order at a restaurant. His writing style is so captivating.
I’m also reading Whitefern by V.C. Andrews. I can’t say I like it, but I didn’t expect to. I listened to the episode of Teen Creeps about this book and it prepared me adequately. None of the characters really make sense to me. I miss the old descriptions of the house, which was essentially its own character. I’m gonna finish it, reluctantly.
In the last couple weeks, I’ve become obsessed with Refinery 29’s Money Diaries. More specifically, the comments of the money diaries. I can’t get enough, and I am so thankful they post a new one each day. This one from last week really hooked me.
I also started listening to a new podcast, Running from Cops. I used to watch the show all the time as a kid, and I love seeing the show analyzed. It’s also so important to hear the stories of the people who appeared on the show. The show only has three episodes out right now, but it’s fascinating.
What’s up for this week? Mostly preparing for a trip to Yellowstone and Montana. Should be lots of fun!
