Recap: ‘16 & Pregnant: Amber’
Let’s meet Amber. Amber is just your typical teen from Anderson, Indiana. She has a best friend named Kayla, likes to do donuts in parking lots, and has a boyfriend of three years named Gary who is a CNA.
We get the whole backstory on how Amber and Gary met. Gary was friends with Amber’s older brother, who was in Iraq at the time this was filmed. They re-enact in their first phone conversation, which was apparently:
Gary: Hey, is Shawn there?
Amber: Nope, he’s out shooting squirrels.
We then get an animation of a squirrel getting shot.
Apparently nobody was happy when Amber and Gary started dating.
And oh yeah, she’s pregnant.
20 Weeks Pregnant
The first line we really get from Amber is, “A baby is coming out of my freakin’ cooch dude.” Gary tells her it’s her fault and Amber blames Gary. We then see Amber and Gary set up their apartment.
Amber says she never wanted kids, so it’s weird that she’s in the position she’s in now. And I have no idea what this animation has to do with anything.
