Recap: ‘16 & Pregnant: Catelynn’

Strap in for the saddest episode of 16 & Pregnant so far.

Catelynn, 16, is from Algonac, Michigan, which is very close to Canada. There’s nothing to do here in the winter except ice fish.

Catelynn and Tyler have been together since 7th grade, and they have a crazy family situation. Catelynn has lived in 13 different houses with April, her “unpredictable” and “moody” mom. It becomes pretty clear that April has a substance abuse problem.

Tyler also has it rough. He lives with his mom, and his dad, Butch, has been in and out of prison his entire life. And guess what? Butch and April got married after their kids got together. That’s right, Tyler and Catelynn are technically step-siblings.

And guess what? She’s pregnant.

That’s a ton of information to throw at us before the big reveal.

February — 16 Weeks Pregnant

Catelynn says she cried when she first learned that she was pregnant, and apparently Tyler did too. They look so incredibly young. They know that they are having a baby girl, and they are considering adoption.

Catelynn is talking to her friend, Tabitha, while Tyler plays basketball and talks to his friend, Ashley. He tells Ashley that he used a condom he had tossed in the washing machine, resulting in the pregnancy. Catelynn licks her lips a lot, and her friend chews gum kind of outside of her mouth.
