Recap: ‘16 & Pregnant: Lori’
Let’s meet Lori. She’s from “small town America” in Kentucky. She has two parents and lives in what appears to be a very nice house. Lori’s adopted, and she often thinks about her birth mother, who she does not know.
We also meet Lori’s ex-boyfriend, Cory. Cory loves football. He and Lori are still friends. This guy seriously looks like Seth Rogen.
Anyway, Lori goes to an all-girls Catholic school. And, oh yeah, she’s pregnant.
September — 27 Weeks Pregnant
Lori says she and Cory broke up after she found out she was pregnant and they fought a lot. Lori says her parents are set on adoption, even though they do want to be grandparents. She says they don’t want to be parents to a young baby again.
Cory says that he was all for closed adoption at first, but now he’s set on parenting the baby. Lori agrees. We learn that they are having a boy. Lori says they can get along better, but they need to figure things out.
Then, Lori tells us that her parents are really mad they are considering parenting, and they have been really pushing adoption. We see Lori and her parents sitting at a dining room table. Mary Jo, Lori’s mom, says she wanted to throw up when she heard about the pregnancy. Her dad, Curt, says that he also became “physically ill.”
