Recap: ‘16 & Pregnant: Whitney’
Whitney’s episode of 16 & Pregnant is probably my favorite episode in the first season. The people involved are all way more interesting than anybody in the past, and I also can’t bring myself to dislike any of these people.
Whitney is from Rome, Georgia, and she’s 16. She is a total socialite with a dream of becoming an X-ray technician. Her boyfriend, Weston, is her first love. She hopes to have a big family, and they already have an adorable dog named Chumpy.
Whitney is super close to her family and lives with her grandma, mom, and mom’s boyfriend. She’s an only child, but that’s about to change because Whitney’s mom is pregnant. And, oh yeah, she is too.
January — 30 Weeks Pregnant
Meemaw has allowed Weston to move into her house. He works at an auto parts factory, but they keep cutting his hours. Whitney reveals they were together less than a year when she became pregnant.
This conversation is kind of hard to follow, but they are talking about finding out that Whitney was pregnant. Whitney says she considered adoption and abortion but knew she was going to have the baby when she went to the doctor’s office for the first time.
Whitney was really embarrassed about being pregnant, so she dropped out of school. She hopes to get her GED.
