Sister Wives: “Four Wives, One House” (S14, E4)

This week Kody is going to ruin everybody’s Christmas with a presentation of his house.

It’s not really clear if Kody has a job (outside of filming a reality show), but he is upset that Janelle is not selling their four homes in Las Vegas fast enough. In the meantime, Robyn seems to be in denial. She says, “Plural families are survivors” and says that a typical monogamist would be stressed out about 9 mortgages/rents.

Janelle spends her weekends in Las Vegas showing the home. She says about moving away, “We did it for a good reason.” But can you please tell us that reason?

We get a flashback to family gatherings of years past. Of course, we have to be reminded of the “flash mobs.”

Anyway, Janelle is telling the people looking at the home that the house has two laundry rooms and two dishwashers, which sounds pretty expensive. Also, it sounds silly since not one of those women has a wild number of children.

We get a talking head with Janelle, and she seems really upset that the houses have not sold yet. She will feel like a failure if they don’t, and it does not seem like she is getting a lot of help. Kody has a lot of questions for her and says he gets “cold” doing business with family. Which seems weird because I don’t get the sense that he makes a lot of sound financial decisions.
