On February 9, 2010, a man looking for cans west of I-15 on Lenwood Road in Barstow stumbled across a backpack. When he opened it, he found something beyond disturbing.

Inside was the head of a teenage girl or young woman. It was wrapped in two plastic grocery bags, one from Walgreens and the other from a place called Fiesta Foods. Brief research shows that a Fiesta Market is in the city of Ontario, about 80 miles away. Another shop called Fiesta Foods is in Bakersfield, about 130 miles away.

The teenage girl was either Latina or white. She was likely older than 14 and had several fillings in her teeth. She had brown eyes and straight brown hair with red highlights. Her ears were pierced.

Unfortunately, Barstow Jane Doe’s body has not been found. As a result, investigators are not able to determine her height or weight, nor are they able to obtain fingerprints. They were able to determine that she’d likely been dead several days before she was found.

Authorities have ruled out several possible identities for Barstow Jane Doe, including Sarita Camacho, Kelsey Collins, and Jessica Foster.

Today, Barstow Jane Doe is still unidentified. Somebody is missing her. If you have information about this case, contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner.
