This Week in Getting Happy
Navigating the world these days has been pretty tough. Trying to find ways to “get happy” is especially difficult when you also feel more socially isolated. Fortunately, discovering new content has been very helpful this week.
Here’s what’s helping me get happy this week:
The Daily Meditation Podcast — I really loved the “Confidence Affirmation” episode from Sunday. The affirmation, “Everything I need is within me. You are so worth slowing down for,” was especially helpful.
Oh, Hello: The P’dcast — John Mulaney and Nick Kroll are amazing. The first three episodes have definitely lifted my spirits.
Becoming — Michelle Obama’s book is so inspiring and so in tune with what I needed this week.
Being at peace with the unchanging opinions of others — There are just some things we can’t change, and that’s okay. I can only manage myself.
Therapy —Last week in therapy we talked about some affirmations. “You are more capable than you realize” is a good one.
