2012 — Legislators in Connecticut vote to repeal the death penalty. The decision came after a 10-hour debate.

2015 — Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel allegedly kills his wife, Palak Patel, while working together at Dunkin’ Donuts in Hanover, Maryland. In 2017, he was added to the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.
