1930 — Comic opera and musical comedy star Adele Ritchie shoots herself and a friend in a murder-suicide.

1973 — Edmund Kemper is apprehended. In May, he was indicted on eight counts of first-degree murder.

2018 — James DeAngelo is arrested and charged with eight counts of first-degree murder based on DNA evidence. He is accused of being the Golden State Killer.
