1483 — Edward V, 12, is never crowned as kind of England after his father dies because he disappears after he is incarcerated in the Tower of London with his brother, Richard.

1927 — Mae West is arrested as she stars in a play she wrote and directed called “Sex.” She was sentenced to 10 days in jail on the basis of public obscenity.

1973 — Otto Kerner, former Illinois governor, is convicted for participating in an illegal racetrack scheme.

2019 — Allison Mack, an actress, pleads guilty to charges of sex trafficking after involvement in Nxivm, a pyramid scheme/cult.
