1976 — Two U.S. soldiers are killed by North Koreans in the Korean Demilitarized Zone as they are cutting down a tree.

1987 — Donald Harvey, a healthcare worker, is given three life sentences for poisoning 24 patients.

2003 — Zachary Turner, 1, is murdered by his mother. She was facing trial for the murder of Zachary’s father. This is the subject of the documentary film Dear Zachary.

2005 — Dennis Rader is sentenced to 175 years in prison. He was known as the BTK serial killer.
