1918 — A failed assassination of Lenin occurs.
1989 — Cynthia Coffman and James Marlow are sentenced to death. In 1986, they murdered Corinna Novis. Coffman became the first woman to receive the death penalty in California since it was reinstated in 1977.
2005 — Hurricane Katrina hit the area the day prior, and news reports of “looting” emerge.
