1888 — Mary Ann Nichols is found murdered near Whitechapel Road. She was the first of several murdered sex workers to be attributed to the unknown assailant known as Jack the Ripper.
1992 — The stand off siege of Randy Weaver’s property in Naples, Idaho, comes to an end after 11 days. It is known as Ruby Ridge.
