1892 — Lizzie Borden’s father and step-mother are murdered with an axe. Borden was acquitted of the murders.
1964 — Michael Schwerner, Andrew Goodman, and James Chaney, three civil rights workers, are found buried. They had disappeared the month prior. It was a racially motivated crime.
