1890 — William Frances Kemmler is executed in the electric chair for the murder of his common-law wife, Tillie Ziegler. He was the first to be legally executed in this way.
1949 — Thelma Taylor, 15, is murdered in Portland, Oregon. Her murderer was executed in 1953.
2004 — Four men break into a home in Deltona, Florida, and bludgeon six people to death. They apparently were trying to avenge the eviction of a squatter and also wanted to recover an Xbox and clothing.
