1894 — The Rock Island railroad wreck occurs in Lincoln, Nebraska. The train had been purposely derailed, and 11 people died. The crime remains unsolved.
1969 — Six members of the Manson family attack and kill Leno and Rosemary LaBianca.
1976 — The Sumter County Does (Jock Doe and Jane Doe) are found in Sumter County, South Carolina. They had both been shot three times in the same places. The homicide victims remain unidentified today.
