1972 — Lori Lee Kursa, 13, is found dead after going missing from a U-Save store. She had run away before this and was known to hitchhike. Her remains were found in a Santa Rose, California, ravine.

2007 — Maria Lauterbach disappears from a Marine Corps base in North Carolina. She was pregnant at the time. Her remains were found in the backyard of Corporal Cesar Armando Laurean. He was extradited from Mexico and convicted of Lauterbach’s murder in 2010.
