1773 — The Boston Tea Party occurs in which colonists board ships and throw its tea overboard into the Boston Harbor. It is the culmination of protests after British Parliament implements the Tea Act.
1969 — British Parliament abolishes the death penalty in Great Britain.
2000 — Jerry Michael Williams is murdered. He was seemingly going to Lake Seminole for the day, and his boat was found abandoned there. His body would be found later. His wife, Denise Williams, had married Brian Winchester, a friend of the couple. She had taken out a life insurance policy on Williams before his death. In 2016, Winchester and Williams divorced, and Winchester allegedly kidnapped her. He received a 20-year sentence. In 2018, Williams was charged with murder and found guilty. Winchester testified that she asked him to shoot Jerry.
