1620 — Elizabeth Bathory, a Hungarian countess, is learned to be a serial murderer.

1964 — Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, the Moors Murderers, kill their last victim.

1985 — Dian Fossey, a zoologist, is found dead in Rwanda. It is speculated that poachers killed her.
