1905 — Mary Mabel Bennett Rogers is executed in Vermont. She was hanged after murdering her husband, Marcus Rogers. She had approached people to kill her husband so she could marry somebody else.
1954 — Donald DeMag becomes the last person executed in Vermont. The state would abolish the death penalty in 1965.
2001 — Robert Schwartz is murdered in Leesburg, Virginia. His daughter, 20-year-old Clara, planned the murder. It was allegedly part of a fantasy roleplaying game. Clara was convicted of first-degree murder.
