Today in True Crime History: February 10
1900 — Roland B. Molineux, an aristocrat, is convicted of murdering Katherine J. Adams with mercury cyanide poison in 1898. He had intended to poison a rival at his athletic club instead. Molineux was later acquitted.
1987 — The body of a woman (aged 16 to 25) is found in a Detroit dump. She is known as Wayne County Jane Doe or Detroit Jane Doe. She’d been stabbed and had been dead for just two days. Jane Doe remains unidentified today. She was 5'5 and about 114 pounds. She had given birth about two months earlier and had an episiotomy scar. She wore two rings on her left hand.
1990 — Placer County Jane Doe is found in Colfax. She was approximately 16 to 26 and seemingly died while hiking. She’d been dead for less than six months. Jane Doe was 4'10 to 5'3 and up to 150 pounds.
1990 — Two unidentified robbers enter Las Cruces Bowl in New Mexico and begin shooting. They kill four people and burn down part of the building. The case remains unsolved today.
2004 — Baby Doe is found in Stanton, California. The infant had been dead about 10 days and was found on a recycling center conveyor belt. His umbilical cord and placenta was still attached.
2010 — The severed head of a girl (age 14 to 19) is found in Barstow, California. The head was found inside a black backpack. The victim is believed to be Latina.
