1957 — The “Boy in the Box” is discovered near Fox Chase in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The victim remains unidentified to this day, but he was like 4 or 5 years old. He is sometimes referred to as “America’s unknown child.”

1972 — Alison Craven’s body is discovered three months after she is missing from her apartment. She is found in a field in Pearland, Texas, about 10 miles from home. Her murder is part of the Texas Killing Fields murders, and it remains unsolved. She was 12 years old.

1973 — Juan Corona is sentenced to 25 life sentences for the murders of 25 migrant farm workers in California. He died in 2019.

1999 — White supremacist William King is sentenced to death for the racist murder of James Byrd Jr. He was executed in 2019.
