1928 — Earle Nelson, known as the “Gorilla Killer” and “Dark Strangler,” is executed by hanging. He committed at least 22 murders.

1999 — Hae Min Lee is last seen alive. The high school student’s body was found in Leakin Park weeks later. Her boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was convicted of her murder. Adnan was the subject of the podcast Serial.
