1897 — Elva Zona Heaster is found murdered in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. Her husband is tried in a court case, during which a “ghost” helps secure a criminal conviction.

1957 — Willie Edwards Jr., a black man, is murdered by members of the KKK in Alabama.

1991 — Darrell Lunsford, a police constable, is murdered after pulling over three men who attack him. A dash cam caught the attack on film.
