1971 — Charles Manson, Susan Atkins, Leslie Van Housten, and Patricia Krenwinkle are convicted of the murders of Sharon Tate and six other people.

1986 — The body of a female is found near I-70 in Salina, Kansas. The victim had been beaten and thrown off a bridge about two days earlier. Her identity is unknown. She is often referred to as “Miss Molly.”
