Today in True Crime History: January 3
1972 — The remains of Rhonda Johnson and Sharon Shaw are discovered near Clear Lake. Their deaths are associated with the Texas killing fields. Both were missing from Webster, Texas and disappeared on August 4, 1971.
1973 — Kimberly Pitchford, 16, goes missing from Houston, Texas. She is last seen at Dobie High School where she is taking a driving test. Her body is found two days later.
1997 — The Bellevue murders occur. Alex Baranyi and David Anderson killed Kim Wilson at a park in Bellevue, Washington. They then went to her house and killed the rest of her family. Both men were, 17 at the time, were convicted to four life sentences in prison.
2014 — Menachem Stark, a real estate developer, is found dead and badly burned in a dumpster in Great Neck, New York.
