1971 —The body of Brenda Jones, 14, is found near Pelican Island in Galveston Bay, Texas. She had disappeared the day before on her way to visit her aunt.

1981 — The Wonderland murders are committed. These are four unsolved murders that occur near Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles. Five people were targeted in the crime, which occurred at a known drug house. Several people, including porn star John Holmes, have been tried and acquitted for the murder over the years.

1982 — Michelle Garvey’s body is found. She was last seen in June when she left her home. She may have hitchhiked, and her family is unsure how she ended up in Texas. Though she was found hours after her death, it was not until 2014 that she was identified with the help of Websleuths.
