1982 — Krista Lea Harrison is murdered in Marshallville, Ohio. In 1984, Robert Anthony Buell was convicted of her murder.

1982 — Mary Edith Silvani, formerly “Sheep Flats Jane Doe,” is shot to death near Lake Tahoe, Nevada. For 37 years, she was unidentified. Her murder is associated with the serial killer James Richard Curry.

2008 — Angie Zapata, a trans woman, is killed in Greeley, Colorado. She was the victim of a hate crime.
