1977 — Jorgen Ponto, a West German banker, is murdered.

1982 — James Riddle Hoffa is declared dead after disappearing on the same day in 1975. His body has never been found.

2005 — Anthony Walker is the victim of a hate crime in England.

2016 — A mass shooting occurs at a party welcoming students at the University of Washington and Kamiak High School in Mukilteo, Washington. Three are killed and another is injured. Allen Ivanov, 19, is arrested shortly afterward. He was sentenced to life in prison.
