1979 — Perry County Jane Doe, or the Girl with the Turquoise Jewelry, is found in Watts Township, Pennsylvania. Authorities apparently did not consider her death suspicious, but her cause of death is not known. Her identity is also unknown.

1984 — The dismembered remains of a woman are found in the Spokane River in Washington. She was between 16 and 35 at the time of her death. Investigators believe that she may have had a minor case of spina bifida and may have give birth. Her identity remains unknown.

1994 — The Bain family murders occur. Robin and Margaret Bain are shot with three of their children. Their oldest child, David, is the only survivor. In 1995, he was convicted of five counts of murder and sentenced to life in prison. In 2009, he was acquitted on all charges after a retrial.
