1975 — Three people, including two FBI agents, are killed at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota during a shootout. Leonard Peltier is convicted.
1988 — Irene Louise May, also known as Melanie, is murdered at a mobile home park in Live Oak Springs, California. Kerry Lyn Dalton was arrested in 1992 with three others who committed the violent act. Dalton was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to death.
2016 — The body of Deverrie Schiller is found in a California City park. Her murder remains unsolved.
