2005 — American blues singer Jackie Neal is shot and killed by James White, her ex-boyfriend.

2009 — Michael Kenneth McLendon, 28, kills 10 people in a shooting spree across Kinston, Samson, and Geneva in Alabama. The deaths are known as the Geneva County massacre. Many of the victims were McLendon’s family members. McLendon shot and killed himself.
