Today in True Crime History: March 12
1974 — Donna Manson disappears from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. She is believed to be a victim of Ted Bundy and her body has not been officially identified.
1980 — A jury finds John Wayne Gacy Jr. guilty of 33 murders. Gacy was ultimately executed in 1994.
1992 — Jack Koslow and Caren Courtney Koslow are viciously attacked in their Fort Worth home. Jack survived. Two men, Jeffrey Dillingham and Brian Dennis Salter are found guilty of attacking the couple and stealing a watch in addition to $200. The Koslow’s daughter, Kristi Anne, conspired with the two.
2002 — Andrea Yates, 37, is found guilty of drowning her five children in her Texas home the year prior. She would later be found not guilty due to insanity.
2003 — Elizabeth Smart is found in Utah nine months after she was kidnapped from her home.
2005 — Terry Ratzmann, a mass murderer who killed seven congregation members of his church, dies by suicide.
2015 — Cristie M. Schoen and her husband are killed by Robert Jason Owens. Schoen had been a contestant on Food Network Star. Also of note is that that Owens is a person of interest in the 2000 disappearance of Zebb Quinn.
