1977— Mary Boyle disappears at the border of County Donegal and County Fermanagh in Ireland. Today, her disappearance is the longest missing child case in the Republic of Ireland.

1989 — Dennis Dechaine is convicted in the murder of Sarah Cherry one year earlier. He is sentenced to life in prison.

1990 — Two thieves break into the Isabella Gardner Museum in Boston and steal 12 pieces, including those by Vermeer and Rembrandt. They have not been found.

2016 — The body of Jessica Cain is found in a field near East Orem Road in Texas. She was last seen at a Bennigan’s restaurant with friends at 1:30 a.m. on August 17, 1997.
