1887 — An unidentified woman’s body is found in Rahway, New Jersey. She becomes known as Rahway Jane Doe.

1965 — Viola Fauver Liuzzo, a housewife and mother, is murdered by members of the Ku Klux Klan at 39 years old. She had traveled to Selma to march from Selma to Montgomery. She is murdered while shuttling with other activists to the Montgomery airport.

1975 — Katherine Lyon, 10, and Sheila Lyon, 12, disappear on a shopping trip to Wheaton, Maryland. The Lyon sisters were murdered by Lloyd Lee Welch, Jr. He pleaded guilty to the crime in 2017 after a long cold case investigation.

1979 — The skeletal remains of Suzanne Bowers, 12, are found in Alta Loma, Texas. She was last seen May 21, 1977, while walking between Avenue S and Avenue P in the morning.

2006 — Nicole Speirs is killed at the age of 22 by Walter Smith, her boyfriend. He confessed to killing her in December of that year. He was sentenced to 15 years for second-degree manslaughter a year later.
