1993 — Peter Shrum, a Mesquite convenience store clerk, is shot and killed by robbers. Both were sentenced to life in prison.

2009 — Sandra Renee Cantu is killed in Tracy, California at 8 years old. She is killed by a neighbor named Melissa Huckaby. Huckaby was sentenced to life without parole.

2018 — Rosendo Rodriguez II is executed in Texas for the 2005 murder of Summer Baldwin in Lubbock. Rodriguez was also found to be responsible for the murder of Joanna Rogers.
