1977 — Rulon Allred is murdered after the head of a rival polygamous sect, Ervil LaBaron, orders it. As a side note, Allred is the grandfather of Christine Brown (of Sister Wives).

1994 — John Wayne Gacy is executed in Illinois. He killed at least 33 boys and men.
