1988 — Richard J. Daronco is assassinated in his Pelham, New York, home. He was a lawyer and judge who was killed by the father of a disgruntled lawsuit plaintiff.

2010 — Daniel Wozniak shoots and kills his neighbor at a theater in Los Alamitos, California. He then killed the victim’s tutor to set a scene.
