1981 — Peter Sutcliffe is found guilty in 13 murders and 7 attempted murders. He is known as the Yorkshire ripper.

2002 — Bobby Frank Cherry, a Ku Klux Klan member, is found guilty in the murders of four girls in the 1963 16th Street Baptist Church bombing. He died in prison in 2004.
