1898 — The Wilmington massacre occurs in North Carolina. Up to 60 black Americans were killed in the attack, which led to severe racial segregation and far-reaching disenfranchisement for black Americans.
2012 — The Richmond Hill explosion occurs in Indianapolis. Two people were killed and seven were injured. The explosion was allegedly committed to collect insurance money.
