1569 — Queen Elizabeth I has the Duke of Norfolk arrested for conspiring to marry Mary Queen of Scots.
1993 — Polly Klaas, 12, is murdered, and her case attracts a significant amount of attention. She was kidnapped from her mom’s home in Petaluma, California, during a slumber party. In 1996, Richard Allen Davis was convicted of her murder. He was sentenced to death. Her father, Marc Klaas, went on to establish KlaasKids Foundation.
2017 — O. J. Simpson is released from prison after spending nine years behind bars for armed robbery and kidnapping. His original sentence was 33 years.
